The Cultural Takeover
The Cultural Takeover
An exciting new creative placement scheme, July 2010 – March 2011
We are looking for enthusiastic young people between the ages of 14 - 19, who live in the PUSH area to undertake creative placements.
This is much more than just work experience - it is an opportunity for you to be placed at the heart of an arts organisation, to work on a creative project and to be supported, guided and mentored on your journey. Placements will be tailor made to suit your interests and abilities and you will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of roles within an arts or heritage organisation. No experience is necessary, only enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
The Time Commitment
Placements will range in length from 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on availability and the host organisation. The placement could be a full time role or part time/weekend arrangement, or it can take place over school holidays. The employment is unpaid but the benefits will outweigh this. All travel expenses will be paid for, as well as the arts-based training and accreditations you will receive.
Benefits to you
- Participating in new and exciting activities
- Developing you as young arts leaders of tomorrow
- Gain accreditation and developing employability skills
- Thinking about learning options and career choices
- Develop your own arts practice
- Work towards a final project
- Future Opportunities
